Please set up a shared folder so students can share their project with you. Click on "Inbox" and create a folder. You can also edit the card template and add Links. |

How to use it?

NOTECARDS
- Click +Project and give it a name and Citation Style and Level according to your teacher. (MLA/Junior)
- Fill out the Project Details and click "Start Project in Google Docs". (Go back to the NoodleTools window)
- Do NOT make it public. Unless otherwise told by your teacher.
- "Share with a project inbox" Ask your teacher! Get the inbox name from YOUR Teacher AND check the box for "Share linked Google Doc".
- Click Done.
- If you are lucky enough to be collaborating with other students... Add their names.
- Build your to do list as directed by your teacher. Just a simple list to keep you focused. Or Skip this part.

- Click the Sources Tab in the middle top banner.
- Fill it out the best you can! Using an actual webpage you want to use
- (or) Go to 14 below!!! And come back to this!
- Add a few sources. YOU do NOT have to use each of the sources but it is a good spot to gather them.
NOTECARDS
- + New
- These Notecards come from the Sources tab you just created.
- As you get more notecards you will have more options.
- Be sure to add tags. Tags will allow you to sort the cards later... according to the tags you give them.
Tag suggestions. Subtopics, paragraph #'s, (details depend on your topic!) Teacher requests? - Print tab will allow you to export your Notes to Word or G Docs...
- Managing and Tagging your Pile lets you sort them in different ways.
- Link to Source... Add a URL to make this page easy to get back to!.
- Tags let you sort them by the Tags you created. Use them!
- Your Cards get stacked. You should drag them around and make Piles!

How to use it? (Some General instructions)
- Click on "PowerSearch (This should search all the databases and get you the general idea)
- At the top click "Sign in with Google" (Now you can save things you Google Drive)
- Do a search for "Gun Control"
- On the right you have your results count. Magazines 50,000+, items. Videos.. and even audio.
- You can filter your results by type, date, and Lexile.
- Click the Title of the third item in your list. (I don't care what it is right now)
Highlight two different parts in two different colors
Make a "Note" too. - Click the "Drive" icon to save this article to YOUR Goolge Drive.
- In a NEW TAB of your browser get to your Google Drive.
- On the left click on "Recent" and you should see the document you just saved.
- Right Click on the Document. Click on "Move To". Navigate to your Grade level / English Folder. Create a new folder if you need to. (+) call it "Research Project" and click "Move." Save all your research stuff in that folder! STAY ORGANIZED.
To cite this GALE source... Be sure you are logged in to Noodle Tools for this. - Click on the "Cite" or quote"
- in the drop down check the format your teacher wants. Probably MLA 8th Edition.
- In the "Export To" box click on NoodleTools then click "Export". You might have to allow Pop-Ups. Check the address box for a little red warning...
- On the next screen chose which "Project" to add the Citation to then click "Import references" Close this tab!
The rest of GALE's databases have the same features and work the same way.
Work the three together! (GALE / NoodleTools / Google Drive)
Browse and search for information on your topic in GALE. Try searching different Databases. Take 15 minutes and save 5 citations/sources to NoodleTools and Save 5 items to your Research Folder in your Google Drive.

- Skim an Article from your Google Drive. (Or GALE)
- Copy a section/paragraph you want to quote and make a notecard for. (Anything for now)
- Go to NoodleTools and create a Notecard. Give it a Title. Card 1?
- On the left Paste your quote
- Fill out the other two boxes appropriately
- Add a few tags (Yes, as in hashTAGS). These tags will let sort your cards later. You can add more than one tag. Perhaps your teacher has ideas on tags depending on your assignment.

Of course you CAN use other sources other than GALE.
Go to the Search Engines page and scroll down to.... Or use any of the other valid search engines on that page.
To Cite those sources in Noodle Tools...do it manually. Get the URL also. If you have a good source there is probably already a citation on tha page. FIND it! (Ctrl F) Copy and paste it into the "Annotations" section in NoodleTools. Now you have what you need to fill in the boxes above!... (IN NOODLE TOOLS!) Add the URL somewhere so you can get back to it!!!
