Sora Unlimited books

When thinking of books to have your students read please do not forget about Sora e-books.  Many of these same physical books we have are also here.  The links below are in our GSD Sora Library.  Please log in with your standard computer log in.

Unlimited Checkouts

These books can have unlimited borrowers. Which means we have one for everybody in your class or school.  Some are kids books most are not.

  • I am not going to list any!

Unlimited Classics

Same as above... Just the Classics! 
  • Frankenstein / Dracula
  • The Call of the Wild
  • White Fang
  • Dickens, Poe, Doyle (more authors too)
  • More than 90 titles...

Unlimited Classic Audio

Ditto again! Unlimited checkouts.
Sadly there are only 6 of the classics available in Audio.

Advantages

Disadvantages
  • Books can be ASSIGNED to students so they just log in and the book is “there”.
  • Track their book engagement.  How long they have been reading, if it was opened…
  • They can read on “any device” Chromebook, phone, PC.
  • They will never “forget” their book!
  • You can put it on your screen for reading, following along…
  • Dyslexic view, Contrast, text options, dark mode…
  • Define words, Highlight, add notes. Saved to G drive!
  • 21st Center Skills!
  • NO need to come library to check in/out books
  • Still on their device. Sometime it is nice to pick up a book!
  • Page #’s are a little harder, but do-able with a search.
  • We won’t get to see you in the library to check in/out books
  • The above books are NOT necessarily on the approved Novel list.  We ARE working on that one! 
    There are about 500, 9-12 books on that list! I am in the process of adding them to spreadsheet.  Feel free to sort the list by column J.
